bullstories

As you well know, living in a cow pasture is anything but dull.  This  of
course being contrary to popular belief however........We will start
with....I am finally feeling better and well on the way back to top speed.  The week started out with bringing some cows home from Rajeans (my sister) and now contending with two bulls in the pasture....Spitfire of course is mine (I  remind him often am the reason he is alive) and being a mellow well mannered bull....has delt with the additional competition well.........he has I would imagine shared with
the other bull that I am not one to charge as I walk across the pasture............It is one of the females that is not listening to that message.  I noticed that there was a large growth on the side of Spitfire's head so Twyla and I loaded him up in the horse trailer.......with a little bribe of hay and a pitchfork.....and took him to the Vet.  Once upon a time thought it might be interesting to work in a Vet's office or be the
Vet.......after this adventure with Spitfire the Bull this thought moved to the side of the page of things I never want to be.......Of course with the emotional attachment I have to Spitfire...and the promise I made to his dying mother watching him be tied
down by the nose was not a pleasant experience although I know it was
entirely necessary.......2,000 lbs of bull is nothing to mess with in any situation.
Got him loaded again this time bleeding and looking very pissed
off.......back into the trailer.  So off we went to run some errands......If Spitfire is to
live up to the name he must be worldly, so a stop at the post office and
then off to Wal-Mart.....yes, Spitfire went to Wal-Mart snorting and bellowing delighting a few children, terrifying a few construction workers and gave me
the title of the story to be told to Harry......(off in Mexico planting
trees) "Today Spitfire went to Wal-Mart.....!  Now to figure out how to put some
more medicine on this very unhappy animal, and spray him down to keep the flies
away.......and getting him out of the trailer safely........At the Ranch
Store we both read the labels of the products available one said "must spray
within 2-4 inches......now that wasn't going to happen......!  Finally finding
something that we thought could work we headed for home......Backing the
trailer into the pasture we each took a can and stood one on each side of
the trailer and sprayed him from both sides.......Feeling good about our
success, I opened the door and he charged out.....looked back and walked with great deliberation towards the other cows......I have been told that getting into the trailer again may not be so easy....!
